Repair, Restore and Preserve The Life Of Your Asphalt Roof
Asphalt Weathers & Degrades
  • Harsh UV energy from the sun oxidizes the surface asphalt - producing a brown chalk-like residue
  • Rain leaches plasticizers to the asphalt surface where the sun oxidizes them - leaving the asphalt brittle, susceptible to cracking, alligatoring, and to seam failures.
  • Water penetrates the asphalt membrane through the cracks, saturating the scrim or felt and producing dimensional change from freeze/thaw and swell/shrink cycles creating blisters, cracks and leaks.
High Performance - Restore, Protect & Preserve
Restore
The initial step is to repair blisters, cracks and leaks with fabric, caulk and base coating.
Protect
Existing asphalt is protected against the aging process with spray or roller applied elastomeric coating to form a fully adhered functional, protective membrane.
  • Permanently blocks out UV - protecting the asphalt from the sun.
  • Produces a water-resistant barrier:
    - Reduces plasticizer leaching.
    - Protects the scrim/felt from water absorption.
    - Inhibits the freeze/thaw and the swell/shrink deterioration
  • Provides a highly reflective membrane:
    - Reduces system temperature by 15°F to 75°F.
    - Slows the rate of oxidation degradation.
Deteriorated BUR Flashing
Preserve
The elastomeric coating properties will preserve the asphalt will beyond it's normal life-cycle; extending roof life.
  • Flexible - coating exhibits excellent cold temperature flexibility - well below the brittle point of asphalt.
  • Resists dirt and chemical contamination - retains high level of UV reflectivity.
  • Protects against mildew and algae growth - which deteriorate asphalt.
  • Durable and provides structural support - fabric reinforcement and coating helps bind the entire asphalt system together.
